We have now stayed at Les Papillons twice and it is simply wonderful! Hospitality and advice given is first class - genuine super hosts and helpful in every way. A lovely introduction to France! The area is outstanding. Accommodation is full of character and 100% clean and well run. You are given as much privacy or sociability as you feel comfortable with. Love the animals! We will be returning.

I stayed at Les Papillons for 8 days with a friend, we were made very welcome when we arrived, our rooms were lovely, sheets to die for. We booked a meal for our first night. We had such wonderful food. The conversation flowed as did the wine, and other than going to a friends home for a BBQ one evening we had no desire to eat anywhere else. One of my faverate times was early morning (with my coffee) sitting in the garden watching the animals and soaking up the tranquility, just lovely. The area of Dordogne is just fabulous, Andrew and Tom (the owners) will give you any advice and directions on places to visit. For me it was one of the best holidays I have had, I will be going back and would not stay anywhere else but Les Papillons. Thank you Andrew and Tom for a brilliant 8 days.
Like staying with good friends in a charming farmhouse

Andrew and Tom have lovingly restored a beautiful old grange oozing with character without losing its original charm. A few lovely dogs and cats greet you like old friends. The shaded, gravel courtyard with its massive willow tree and chickens milling about, is a tranquil setting for your petit dejeuner as well as a wonderful place to relax in the afternoon with a book and perhaps a kitten in your lap, (as our sons can attest!) The food is exquisitely prepared and presented. The lovely garret rooms with exposed beams were cozy and clean, with beautiful antique linens. A short walk from the Dordogne river and a stone's throw from Beynac and all the other stunning chateaux, Les Papillons has it all. But perhaps most memorable, was meeting Andrew and Tom, enjoying their company and feeling so welcome in their home. Toujours Les Papillons!

Our time spent at Les Papillons was the highlight of our Dordogne vacation. We were made to feel at home by the the owners Andrew & Tom. Les Papillons is ideally situated to use as a base to explore the rest of the Dordogne and Vezere Valley. On our last evening we had dinner at Les Papillons, and it was by far the nicest meal and wine we have ever had. If we are ever lucky enough to visit the Dordogne again, we will definitely be staying at Les Papillons.
