Just to add my voice to all the rave reviews. We stayed here for 3 days in July and wished we had booked for longer; we did not want to leave. We felt welcomed, looked after and relaxed. I felt it was a positive advantage that it was a B&B;rather than a hotel, it made the whole atmosphere informal, and as someone else said, you felt you could come and go, sit in the lounge, relax in the pool or sit in the garden as if you were at the house of an old friend. The rooms were beautifully done, making the most of the ancient structure of the building, and everything works as it should (not always the case with B&Bs;which are sometimes furnished with left overs that have been well used - not here!). There's a fridge for use of guests if you want to keep your wine cool for a drink in the evening watching the bats come out. Suzanne has a real eye for taste in decor, and interesting things are all over the place. Breakfast is good - try the fromage frais on the muesli - and the grounds of the Ferme have to be seen to be believed - full of flowers even after weeks of drought. The pool was great, and we used it to full advantage. The situation is really good - although if you had a small toddler in tow you might find it a bit of a walk to the village in the heat of summer. The village offers a limited number of restaurants, but enough for a week of eating out. Very close to lots of lovely Perigord attractions - don't miss the Font de Gaume caves at the other end of the village, but book in advance. I know Mike and Suzanne have a lot of repeat business and it is easy to see why - we also hope to be back.

The host and hostess, Mike and Suzanne, (and Lily the bulldog!) immediately made one at home in a foreign country. Breakfast is served in a grand salon, decorated with toy bears in bowler hats, wearing glasses, and playing ukeleles; dolls' houses, mannekins wearing hats, beads, and exotic underwear from a more elegant period; all to exotic music. The room was predictably monastic but upmarket with modern plumbing! We went for 6 days, and stayed for 10 because of the charismatic environment and proximity to beautiful nearby historic villages ! Only downside is that in earlier days, a splendid home-cooked dinner was provided, but this became too long a day for the hosts. Today one needs to venture into the town (about 5 minutes) for an evening meal, and the choice is limited — and downmarket. Particularly after one has salivated with the captivating smells coming form Suzanne’s exotic kitchen in the soirée .......

We have just returned from a weeks stay at this beautifully restored farmhouse where our experience was even better than the reviews. Suzanne and Mike are the most welcoming and friendly hosts and made our stay perfect (we felt that we were guests in a friends house) Our room was large, beautifully charming with an extremely comfortable bed, the lounge has very comfortable sofas and the extensive gardens are truly magnificent with lots of private areas to sit and relax. We would have no hesitation in recommending Ferme de Tayac, it is a place not to be missed.

Ferme de Tayac: This was our 2nd base B&B;, which is an 1100 AD Abbey. There are several buildings which are all restored and full of fun antiques. Giant lounge rooms for reading and music. Not a TV in the place. There is a large swimming pool, hammocks to nap in, and areas where we had several picnics. It was located about 3 blocks out of the town Les Eyzies. Run by Mike and Susanna, retired South Africans who were perfect hosts. The rooms have stone walls and decorated with vintage clothing items hanging on the wood beams. Our bathroom used an antique baby chair as the toilet paper holder. We did a second canoe trip from here along the Vezere River to La Roque St. Christophe, which was more peaceful trip, very tranquil and full of nature. We only saw a handful of other boaters during this 3-hour journey.

We were delighted to be able to secure 2 rooms for 4 nights for ourselves and our 2 teenage kids after reading about this place on TripAdvisor. After a long and exhausting trip, we slept very well in the comfortable beds, waking up refreshed to start our visit. Mike and Suzanne could not have been more welcoming, and we followed Mike's suggestions, without disappointment, for sight-seeing in the area. The place is gorgeous; rooms are charming. Perfect place from which to start out in the morning - partake of the offerings nearby, and peaceful to return to at the end of the day. We were fortunate that there was a fete while we there so we were able to see the locals and join in the dancing! Our happiest memories of our trip to France (which also included 4 nights in Paris) were breakfasts here with the other lovely guests who were from Barcelona, Milan, Paris, Moscow and Britain. Wonderful experience for the kids too. As an extra perk, Lily, the English bulldog is an absolute charmer. We will always have warm memories of our stay here, recommend it without reservation, and hope to be able to return one day.

"La Ferme de Tayac" has a perfect location, in les Ezyes, which is one of the best town to visit the region as it is quite central, but with all the quietness you could expect from Perigord but rarely get. The house is lovely and no more than 5 bedroms are to rent, which make you feel like your were going to your country house. Mike and Suzan are the perfect hosts and their sense of humour (english humour) bring to the place a wonderfull and friendly atmosphere. The Bedrooms are nice and clean, with just the perfect decor. I strongly recomend to everyone la ferme de Tayac and will maybe meet one of you there because I will come back.

We stayed six nights here and wished we could have stayed longer. The hosts, Mike and Suzanne, made us feel very much at home in thier beautiful and historical inn. Everything you see and read on their web site is true. We truly felt like we were guests in a good friend's home. The location is fantastic and the restored monistary, and grounds are spectacular. Very close to town within walking distance of great restaurants and the sights of the area.

Torneremo presto, ormai siamo in famiglia. Dimenticavo, non prendono i bambini piccoli, sappiatevi regolare!

We chose this B&B;based on wonderful reviews on Trip Advisor, and we weren't disappointed. Everything was lovely, from the room to the grounds to the swimming pool. We very much enjoyed meeting the interesting folks staying there, and Mike & Suzanne were most helpful and hospitable. This was our first time at a B&B;but it was more comfortable than many hotels. It's a short walk into Les Eyzies which is a charming little village with a number of restaurants, and a short drive to many of the caves. Perfect location, very quiet, nice breakfast - an excellent choice for a stay in the Dordogne. We were there only 3 nights but could have enjoyed a visit that was twice as long.

We were on a week-long stay in the Dordogne Valley and picked the Ferme de Tayac based on its positive Trip Advisor reviews. We were not disappointed - it is a really lovely place to stay! Down a little side road about 5 minutes walk from the centre of the small town Les Eyzies de Tayac, the Ferme de Tayac provided the 3 most comfortable nights of our 8 nights in France. Suzanne greeted us with a warm welcome and showed us to our room, which was large and cozy with a massive bed and plenty of space to move around. The bed was just fantastic - I slept so well all three nights! Breakfast was around a large table in the living/dining area which is open to guests at all times, and there were croissants, bread, butter and jam as well as juice and coffee and yogurt or a boiled egg. A perfect start to the day. The Ferme de Tayac is convenient for exploring the local caves with their prehistoric drawings and etchings (Font de Gaume and les Combarelles) as well as the local area with some stunning scenery (go to St Leon sur Vezere for a truly picturesque stop for lunch). At the Ferme de Tayac we felt really at home and it was nice and easy to walk to the many restaurants in Les Eyzies. Suzanne also does meals and although we didn't end up eating there, the smells from the kitchen in the evening were wonderful! There is also a terrific pool with plenty of chairs and space to sit around. Suzanne and Mike have done a spectacular job in renovating and the Ferme de Tayac is a truly relaxing and special find - we hope to be back sometime soon!

We found this b&b;online and couldn't have been more delighted with the place when we arrived. Suzanne and Mike were extremly welcoming and work really hard to make you feel comfortable. They were also really helpful with information about the surrounding area. The rooms are beautifully decorated and the bed in the room we had (which overlooks the main entrance courtyard) was enormous! The shower was powerful in the room and all the fittings were new and very clean. The bed linen was really comfortable too. Inside, the B&B;is lovely, with exposed stone work and old beams. It is also decorated in neutral colours, sympathetic to the building itself and the natural surroundings in general. Breakfast was great - a boiled egg each, croissants, pains au chocolat, bread, homemade jams, yoghurt, museli, tea, coffee, juice. The swimming pool is very refreshing and relaxing andfits into the surroundings perfectly. All in all, we will, without a doubt, return to this property. Aside from being absolutely lovely in itself, it is perfectly placed to explore the beautiful region. Amy & Baz

We found this place even better than the reviews. We were five couples, travelling together, and we stayed 4 nights. Our hosts were great, beer and wine available, use of the pool after a day out in the car, and Suzanne cooked a lovely 5 course meal for us the first night. We were made very welcome and I would recommend this place unreservedly

We read alot about this B&B;on the internet, and could not wait to spend a few nights here, and explore the Vezere Valley. We booked for 3 nights, but ended up staying 8, and I believe it is the first time ever that I was sad to leave a B&B;. We got excellent instructions from Suzanne & Mike (Hosts) on how to get from Ch. de Gaule airport in Paris all the way to Les Eyzies de Tayac. The B&B;is absolutely amazing, the oldest part is 12th century, and it is a former farmhouse / monastery run by the munks. the rooms are very spacious and cozy. We had excellent views of the rock face riddled with prehistoric dwellings. Suzanne and Mike are lovely people who go out of there way to make your stay an enjoyable one, they gladly share their knowledge of the area with their guests, we went places that you will not find on any maps or in any guide books, and all FREE, We spent 8 wonderful days walking, canoeing, horse riding and just relaxing at the pool. Les Eyzies is a quaint village, but you have seen it within a few hours, but the area around it is absolutely amazing, you could spend weeks... months exploring it. B&B;Ferme de Tayac, and Suzanne & Mike made our stay in the Prehistoric Capital an unforgettable experience,. If you want to experience the REAL Dordogne, and not get caught in the tourist rutt, then this is definately the place to stay.
